ISO 55.000: How to apply the VDMXL model as a practical Asset Management System?
Maintenance & Asset Management professionals:
NFV will together with Mainnovation offer a special webinar series “VDMXL Deep Dive Sessions”.
Value Driven Maintenance & Asset Management, or simply VDMXL, explains how maintenance, extending the service life, and modernization can add maximum economic value to an existing plant or fleet, or to existing infrastructure. The work is based on a quantitative control model, a control panel with 12 KPIs, sector-specific benchmarks, and over 50 best practices.
The topic for this webinar is ISO 55.000: How to apply the VDMXL model as a practical Asset Management System?
ISO 55.000 is not a new standard. The first version dates from 2014, and part of the standard (ISO 55.002) was updated in 2018. In 2019 a supplement was added, in particular ISO/TS 55.010, with a specific focus on the relationship between financial and non-financial functions.
Many people indicate that ISO 55.000 (as the collective name for the series of standards) is very abstract and difficult to apply. The standard was indeed written to be widely applicable. Therefore the standard has a certain level of abstraction.
But there's good news. Together with a few of our customers, we linked the ISO 55.000 requirements to the Mainnovation's VDMXL model. The VDMXL Model serves as the dynamic 'Asset Management System.' This not only increases the readability of the standard, but it also ensures a direct translation to the underlying competencies. It also makes an ISO-scan, to measure the (possible) gaps between the ISO standard and the actual situation, a lot easier.
In this webinar, we elaborate on:
- What is the basis and background of ISO 55.000?
- Why is this standard important for everyone actively involved in maintenance and asset management?
- What is an Asset Management System, and how does the VDMXL model fit into it?
- What are the experiences of companies that were certified?
- Is certification a must, or can I just apply the standard?
- Does certification have advantages? If so, what are they?
