FROSIO has been certifying Inspectors for corrosion protection since 1986 and since 2012, also certified Inspectors within Insulation. Currently FROSIO has certified more than 13 000 inspectors from 90 countries. The FROSIO approval and certification scheme have achieved high international recognition and a FROSIO certified inspector is a specific requirement within different many standards and specifications world wide.

Having gained level III industry qualifications in UT, Phased Array and ToFD, Stuart then graduated from the University of South Wales in Non-destructive Testing and material evaluation. Dr Martin Wall is a materials engineer, NDT and failure expert, with over 40 years experience in a diversity of projects in the offshore industry and across industry sectors centered on asset integrity, reliability of NDT, corrosion, hydrogen, weld integrity, and materials failure. Since 2000 Martin has chaired the HOIS Subsea, FPSO & flexibles working group (FPSOWG) within the long established HOIS JIP (www.hois.co.uk ) with a particular interest in integrity and inspection and monitoring of subsea infrastructure and pipelines.

Chris Scales

Chris graduated in Metallurgy from the University of Manchester in 1994. He now has over 28 years of experience in industry, in the areas of Metallurgy, Welding, Corrosion, Inspection and over the last 12 years, as a Specialist Inspector in Materials and Corrosion with The Health and Safety Executive’s Energy Division.
His remit also now includes assisting to develop the government’s regulatory framework for Net Zero-related energy technology.
Prior to the HSE, Chris worked at BAE Systems Submarines in the UK as a Principal Engineer in the Metallurgy and Welding department. For 12 years, he was involved in the design and build of the Royal Navy’s nuclear-powered Astute class submarines.
Having spent a number of years sitting on the MoD’s Defence Standards Corrosion Committee, Chris is currently involved in the Energy Institute’s Corrosion Management and Asset Integrity Committee, as well as being Chair of The Welding Institute’s Process and Pressure Systems Technical Group.
